Health Care Services
Quality health care is easily accessible to both
Topsail area visitors and residents alike. From the simplest to the
most complex concerns, medical care is available through a number of
public and private health care facilities.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Cape Fear Hospital are in
Wilmington, about a 30-45 minute drive from Topsail Island. Pender
Memorial Hospital, located in Burgaw, is within an hour's drive of
the island. All three are part of the New Hanover Health Network,
which is known locally for its excellence in customer care.
Onslow Memorial Hospital is located in Jacksonville, about a
40-minute drive from Topsail Island, and is operated by the Onslow
County Hospital Authority. Onslow Memorial Hospital is known as a
progressive health care organization with a personal approach to
care.
There are also several clinics on the island and in the towns of
Holly Ridge and Sneads Ferry, which provide a range of treatments.
Several have complete radiology services. Conveniently, a pharmacy
with a full range of products at competitive prices is located on
the Island in Surf City. In terms of Pender and Onslow Counties,
both have health departments that offer a variety of services.
