The Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce

Our Communities

Government

The Greater Topsail Area spans two counties - Onslow, in the northern portion, and Pender, in the southern. Both counties are governed by boards consisting of five commissioners, who elect their chairmen, and appoint their county managers.

In Onslow County, three communities lie within the Chamber's service area - Sneads Ferry, which is an unincorporated township, and Holly Ridge and North Topsail Beach, both of which are incorporated.

In the Chamber's Pender County service area are Surf City and Topsail Beach, both incorporated, and the northern portion of unincorporated Hampstead.
The North Carolina General Assembly is composed of two bodies, the Senate, which has 50 members, and the House of Representatives, which consists of 120 members. The General Assembly meets in regular session beginning in January in odd numbered years, and in a shorter session in even numbered years.

Representing the region in the state legislature in Raleigh are a state senator and representative each, serving the Onslow County localities, and a state senator and representative each, serving the Pender localities.

Onslow County lies in the 3rd U.S. Congressional District, while Pender County is in the 7th District.
